Pro-Woman, Pro-Choice
You cannot talk about equality without saying that you trust women to make choices about their own body. Being pro-woman means educating young people about their bodies, including their reproductive systems and their sexuality. They should be able to use this knowledge to decide and control when and if they choose to have children. That means we support single women with children, married women with children, women with 6 children, and women with no children. Women must feel empowered to say no, mean it, and have it respected and they must also feel free to say yes.
My Plan
Comprehensive sex education must be included in K-12 curriculum. The words penis and vagina should be as common as nose, ears, and eyes.
Access to birth control, including emergency birth control, and first trimester
abortions, must be part of any healthcare proposal.Affordable childcare, full-day pre-k, free school breakfast and lunch, and after
school care/programs need to be funded.Women must be guaranteed job related accommodations for pregnancy, and
paid medical and family leave expanded to all American workers.Increasing the minimum wage increases all wages so that a single income family
can provided for the basic essentials without relying on government programs.Working people should not have to piece mill food stamps, subsidized housing
and other programs to make ends meet. The equal rights amendment (ERA) needs to be modified to guarantee equality
regardless of biological sex, gender identity, and sexual orientation and then put forward for ratification again.
